Vizio has a great picture and good stand alone sound if you do not intend to hook this TV to a sound system/bar. I have a 46" Samsung and while the picture is great, the sound is very disappointing, unusable without hooking it up to a home audio system. I have a 42" Vizio and it sounds fine.

It doesn't have 120hz refresh rate or LED backlight at this price point but I don't play a lot of video games; therefore, high refresh rate isn't a must and the advantanges of LED is not that significant enough (100,000 hrs. Found this TV at Circuit City for 799 (sale is now over). I have had the TV for a week. I also have a 50 Samsung Plasma, both on HD. The JVC has a better picture on both regular and HD channels. I like the Ipod feature. You need to play with the sound equalizer to get the best quality out of an Ipod without a sound system. Ipod video is fair.
